advocatus Dei (izg. advocatus dȅi) osoba koja u Rimokatoličkoj crkvi opovrgava prigovore;
advocatus diaboli (izg. advocatus diàboli: đavlov odvjetnik) 1. onaj koji iznosi razloge protiv kanonizacije ili beatifikacije 2. pren. onaj koji u najboljoj namjeri zastupa stavove što sugovorniku nisu po volji, što mu ne ide u prilog (ob. u znanstvenoj, intelektualnoj diskusiji), kako bi onaj drugi mogao upotpuniti podatke, argumentaciju i sl.
